Techno. Musical style. DJ information blog. Techno originates from electronic house music, developed in Detroit in mid-80th. Where house still has a clear relationship to the disco, even when this style was entirely mechanical, techno direction always belonged to a strictly electronic music designed specifically for a small audience. First musicians and DJs in the style of techno Kevin Saunderson, Juan Atkins and Derrick May did the emphasis on electronic, synthesized bits artists electro-funk, such as Afrika Bambaataa and working in the direction of synth-rock, as Kraftwerk. In the U.S., techno was only underground phenomenon, but in Britain it is to escape to the main arena of country music in the late 80th. In the early 90th techno start disintegrating into many subgenre, including hardcore, ambient and jungle. In the style of hardcore techno, the number of strokes per minute in each song was increased to ridiculous and impossible to dance levels had been done in order to cool the broad masses and alienate fans. All subgenre techno originally intended to be used in clubs, where they mix DJs. As a consequence, most of the music was available in 12 - inch singles or compilations of different musicians, where the songs were quite long, which gave DJ large amount of material to mix. In mid-90th, a new type of techno music in the style they were mostly ambient artists such as the Orb and Aphex Twin, but also prefer a more severe style as the Prodigy and Goldie they began to create albums with compositions that did not contain raw material for dj-mix. Not surprisingly, these musicians, especially the Prodigy became the stars of world techno.
