Freestyle. Musical style. DJ information blog.

This direction is often developed jointly with such contemporary styles as electro and house. Freestyle originated in the two Latin American capitals, New York City and Miami in the early 80th. Such classic Freestyle, as "I Wonder If I Take You Home" by Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam, "Let the Music Play" by Shannon and "Party Your Body" from Stevie B has been implemented on the basis corner synthesizering bits, like electro and Early house, however, also used a romantic theme, reflected in the classic R & B and disco. Mixing mechanical music and sensual texts has become the key to success, so the hits performed by Shannon and Lisa Lisa is in the top lines in 1984-85 Top 40's. Freestyle perfectly combined with dance pop during its heyday in the mid-80th author of early music and remixes Madonna - John Benitez (aka Jellybean) also played an active role in the development of freestyle. By the end of the decade, a number of artists Brenda K. Starr, Trinere, Cover Girls, India and Stevie B moved with his compositions in the pop or R & B charts. Even after fading popularity in the late 80th, freestyle moved to the underground lines as the leading modern dance music, along with house, techno and bass music. As with mainstream house, singers freestyle - it is usually (though certainly not always) women's vocal ensembles or male composers. New figures such as Lil Suzy, George Lamond, Angelique, Johnny O and others have become major stars in the culture of freestyle.
