Downbeat - a generic term sometimes used to replace the names of ambient-house and ambient-techno. It should be noted that the volume and complexity of electronic music in the style of "ambient" virtually replaced the term in use by mid-90th. This name often involves the use of moderate breakbeats instead of permanent four-four beats, the artists preferred by most ambient-house and ambient-techno. This style also combines elements by trip-hop, ambient-techno and electro-techno. In its broadest definition, downbeat - is any form of electronic music, designed for listening, not for the Dancefloor.
